Payroll Accounting Associate

General Summary

The Payroll Accounting Associate works within MWG Payroll Solutions and reports to the Agency Manager. The purpose of this position is to support the Payroll Tax Specialist in assisting clients of MWG Payroll Solutions. The Payroll Accounting Associate is primarily responsible for keeping up with the accounting practices of MWG Payroll Solutions including the impounding of payroll funds and the payment of payroll taxes in a timely, efficient manner. Functional activities include maintaining accurate bank account records, reviewing and processing payroll taxes, and generating payroll tax reports. The position is based with the offices of Morgan White Group in Ridgeland, MS.

  • Ensures MWG Payroll Solutions bank accounts are balanced daily
  • Reviews, impounds and submits tax payments for clients of MWG Payroll Solutions
  • Monitors withholdings of State and Federal taxes
  • Assists in the timely filing of State and Federal tax returns on the client’s behalf
  • Prepares general ledger entries for review and recording by MWG accounting department
  • Ensures direct deposits are transferred to the bank in a timely manner
  • Confirms the proper supporting documents are on record
  • Reconciles quarterly tax filings
  • Researches various tax inquiries and notices from tax agencies and auditors

Education and Experience or Skills Needed:

Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or related area; Prefer minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or payroll administration. Basic math and computer skills. Proficient in Excel and payroll technology.

Systems Analyst

Full-time position with Morgan White Group. This position provides system-level support of multi-user applications and software tools/utilities including the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of these system. Position is in Programming (not I.T.). Competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.
  • Windows development skills using Microsoft Visual Studio, MicrosoftTeam Foundation, Windows Forms, business objects technologies and C# are required.
  • Develop support workflows and processes as necessitated by the team.
  • Database development skills using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Management Studio are required.
  • Use of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test and/or modify computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based and related to user or system design specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with supervisors, content providers, IT personnel, and team developers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required. Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Team Foundation, and Microsoft SQL Server. Ability to analyze business logic changes and coordinate appropriate software solutions.

Web Application Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience in server-side application development (C#, MVC, LINQ & Entity Framework)
  • Proficient in client-side technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, Css, Knockout / Angular)
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL for the development of database driven, web-based applications
  • Understanding of SOAP and REST web services
  • Analyze existing web sites UI processes and implement improvements
  • Work with design team to develop new and existing web sites
